Kodak Instamatics
(1963-1988) Kodak's Instamatic was a popular line of easy-to-use cameras that used 126 film cartridges, making loading film super simple. Launched in 1963 with the Instamatic 50, these cameras helped bring photography to the masses—just like Kodak’s slogan said: “You press the button, we do the rest.” By 1976, about 60 million had been sold, and "Instamatic" became a catch-all term for point-and-shoot cameras, no matter who made them. Kodak later used the name for some of their 110 Pocket Instamatics and even a few Super-8 movie cameras and projectors.
