3A Kodak Series II
(1941-1942) The 3A Series II camera was likely released between June 1941 and February 1942, just before the War Production Board's restrictions on civilian goods in April 1942. As a result, its production run was brief. The camera improved upon the earlier 3A Kodak Series I, offering more advanced features such as the multiple-tested Kodamatic shutter with five speeds (up to 1/200 second) and a built-in delayed-action mechanism. It also included both eye-level and waist-level finders, and a rising front to aid in vertical compositions. These enhancements made it more versatile for varied photography.
A collector’s note:
This camera is very big, double the size of a 616 folding camera.
